Farmers Market

For a couple of Saturdays during the spring and autumn, a farmers market sets up their stands close to where M and I live. So, one Saturday we walked by and bought some jam, dried mushrooms, and fresh chanterelles.

By shopping at a farmers market you can make a significant difference on your footprint. The food available is in season and the food doesn't need to be transported from across the country (or world) which lowers its impact compared to conventional shopping. Also, it supports the local economy.

Not everyone has access to a farmers market but if you do I really recommend visiting one. If you don't have one nearby I recommend looking for "Rekoringar", where people gather and sell locally produced foods and goods. There are usually Facebook groups for your specific area.
