Transitioning into spring

A sure sign of the arrival of spring are the numerous posts and entries from fashion magazines and influencers that we need to ”invest” in new pieces for the spring season. Usually it is the classics: a trench coat, loafers, striped jumper and blue denim. Something that will never go out of style they say. And I mean they aren’t completely wrong because we see these items promoted spring after spring but, for every year something is changed. For example, the trendy silhouette of the trench coat looks very different now compared how it did in the 60s or 70s because there is a trend in everything. So, think an extra time before you decide to ”invest” in a classic piece and know that the tren(ch)d will look different next year.

You probably, you have a lot of these things that I mentioned at home already but, you might find yourself in the need (or want) a few ”new” things to your wardrobe for the spring or just in general. What’s rarely promoted is the huge availability of second hand clothes so, there is really no need to buy new. For example, the outfit I pieced together is a second hand striped jumper that I bought on Sellpy, jeans that I bought from my friend who had bought them online second hand but they did not fit her and my trusty loafers that are still going strong. I’m by no means a fashion blogger but I just want to show you that there are things out there and it’s important that we limit our consumption of newly produced things to ease the pressure on our planet.
